Never Breakdown Again: How New Car Tech Could Limit Risk Getting Stranded

Car breakdowns are so frustrating. They can ruin your entire day.

You get stranded on the way to work. Your co-workers end up short-handed and stressed out. Your engine craps out on a family vacation. Not only does it mess up your plans, but you also must choose a mechanic in an unfamiliar area. Add restless kids to the mix and your anxiety will go through the roof.

Breakdowns aren’t fun, but they happen

How many abandoned cars did you pass on the road today? This doesn’t have to be the case. New technology could eliminate the possibility of getting stranded. Telematics technology is at our fingers tips and will disrupt the automotive aftermarket.

Understanding Telematics

You’re driving home and the check engine light turns on. That means your vehicle needs attention. What’s wrong? You can’t know for sure. A mechanic will have to hook up a scanner to pull and decipher a code to tell you. There’s no way to judge the severity of your auto problem until that happens, which is inconvenient when you need to travel (but aren’t 100% sure it’s safe to do so).

Telematics are like a good waiter or waitress

“Okay” servers fill up your glass when it’s empty. Good servers top off your glass before it gets empty. In other words, they anticipate your needs. The check engine light says, “Hey! Something is malfunctioning. You should call your mechanic.” Telematics say, “It looks like something might malfunction soon. I already notified your mechanic.” See the difference? It’s huge. This will save so much time and trouble for all parties involved.

Drivers will be less defensive

As someone who advises drivers on car maintenance, I see telematics as a valuable tool for building trust and confidence in the recommendations I provide. With telematics backing up my advice, drivers may be more inclined to take preventive action based on early warnings, ultimately reducing the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns, and improving overall vehicle reliability.

In the ever-evolving landscape of car technology, telematics represents a significant step forward in enhancing driver safety and peace of mind on the road. As this technology becomes more prevalent, the days of worrying about unexpected breakdowns may soon be a thing of the past.

Tips for writing best reviews

Share Your Voice

DriversAutoKnow.com is intentionally an inclusive review site, especially for those who are under-acknowledged. All voices matter in assisting and empowering others to make smart decisions on where to get their vehicle service.

Be Genuine

Honesty is the best policy. Be authentic and polite in describing what worked, or perhaps, what didn’t. No coarse language.

Be Specific

“Joe is great” doesn’t provide detail to the experience. What was your visit like? What happened? Mention the name of the individual who helped you, of course. How did they assist? What was the interaction like?

Stay on Point

Reviews only need to be a few sentences. There is no need to exaggerate or get too lengthy. Less is more.

Be Thoughtful

Give it a once over for context and content. You can always edit your review. Proofreading is a good idea.

Be Respectful

We all want to be treated with respect. You are encouraged to share your experience in a courteous manner. No coarse language.
